Speaking of cool, there are few superhero outfits as explicitly cool as Peter Parker’s Symbiote Suit. The Iron Spider suit does have the pesky misfortune of directly representing Peter’s rejection of the Avengers in Homecoming- something Infinity War blatantly ignores- but that’s the price to pay for a cool suit. Worse yet, Peter’s rebooted suit left quite a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, it is even sweeter that a lot of these suits in the films have drawn inspiration from the pages of the comics with references to several suits from comic lore. Most fans of Spider-Man’s are likely aware that the symbiote is known by the name Venom when parasitically bonded with Eddie Brock Jr, or other hosts who commonly use the malignant substance as an antagonist figure in earlier comics. Going into The Amazing Spider-Man’s rebooted universe, some fans were hesitant. It might lack most of Spider-Man’s signature flairings outside of the color scheme, but that’s not a bad thing by any means whatsoever. Spider-man’s known for his slick suit and web-slinging abilities, but in the recent 2017 film ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’, we meet Peter Parker before he ever dons his sleek spider suit. Meet Anti-Venom, a unique symbiote that has the ability to cure any disease, and not having the weaknesses of the original.

It’s as close to the comic as it gets, only rivaled by Raimi’s original suit, while also having a distinct identity of its own. The Negative Zone Costume is a costume Spider-Man gained while traveling to the Negative Zone to rescue three children. Being that the Negative Zone has no color, womens spiderman costume the suit made Spider-Man seem almost invisible. It’s also just an excellent looking suit that manages to look familiar without being derivative. In Earth-616, Ben Reilly takes up being Spider-Man for a while and dawns a costume with the red and blue pattern but a different design. By simply swapping blue for black, Peter’s newest suit ends up one of the slickest in the franchise. There’s really no beating the classics, though, and Peter’s Civil War/Homecoming suit is one of his simplest suits yet. While both web shooters are very improbable in reality, only one is really part of the suit, so Maguire takes this one. The second part is a guide, which contains a detailed walkthrough of all the main and side missions. This is to say nothing of how poorly the wrestling scene has aged. Of course, this doesn’t change the fact that the wrestling suit frankly doesn’t look that good.

What also fascinated me was how Venom and Eddie showed a huge change in their personalities. While that means these events didn’t transpire in the Sacred Timeline, it strongly implies that the Venom franchise and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe exist within the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse. Not just that, in building the suit, Peter visually takes over Tony’s role in the franchise. Yes, it might feature in what many consider to be one of the worst films in the franchise (if not the worst,) but it works well in the context of its own movie. As far as combat goes, the Iron Spider suit is far and away the best suit any movie Peter has ever fought in. What is Spider Man’s friends name? How does Spider Man get the black suit? During his visit to the Negative Zone, Spider-Man’s suit transformed into a white and black suit. His black and red Far From Home suit puts this on display better than any. Peter uses it for most of the Civil War, but he’s only in the film’s second act; he uses it in Homecoming, but he doesn’t save the day in it; and he ends up prioritizing other suits in Infinity War, Endgame, and Far From Home.
