Perhaps the most anticipated content is the PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man DLC, as many are waiting to see how the webslinger plays in the Crystal Dynamics title. Seeing the sleek black and red suit as an alternate costume would be terrific, and if Crystal Dynamics wanted to go the extra mile, adding in an alternate voice that plays whenever the look is equipped could make the DLC even better. A sideways Spider symbol truly makes the costume different from the rest, with the casual design style rarely ever being seen in Spider-Man designs. Worn by Peter Parker’s nemesis Doctor Octopus after the villain assumes control over Spidey’s body, the outfit boasts a very different black and red pattern to what is seen in Miles’ suit. The images clearly depict Insomniac’s original suit with white tech over the hands that carry on once Venom envelops him, and the logo on his chest is elongated over where blue lines rest on the basic suit. The original suit sees an entirely blue costume with a red symbol, eyes, and spikes on the arms. While the proper Ben Reilly suit is a great Spider-Man design, the clone’s Scarlet Spider costume remains his most memorable look. While the extra legs may need to be saved for an emote, as not all suits have them, the metallic look and Iron Man-inspired color scheme would justify the skin’s inclusion. This time, the suit had nothing special, except for the new color. Arguably the most iconic Spider-Man costume outside of the classic red and blue design, the Symbiote suit is usually associated with a darker Peter Parker. This is for good reason, as the loose jacket and lack of webbing on the suit differentiate this costume from the others. This suit has no webbing or logos printed or painted onto it which is perfect for me as I have always wanted to make a suit from scratch with my own custom puff painted webbing etc. But as it is already made, I was wondering if it would fit me even if our body measurements are close but not exact. One can’t help but notice the red webbing on the suit is akin to another popular webhead.
The symbiote changes his suit from red and blue to full black and has enhanced his powers, but it also slowly started to make him arrogant and aggressive. Miguel was seen sporting a similar costume, spider man miles morales suit only this time swapping the blue coloring with a white look. Covering the bottom half in black and the top half in red, the look is perfected with some pitch black eyes – a great contrast to the usual white eyes of the webslinger. Either could be the result of even the slightest alteration from the original costume design, such as changing the blue areas on Spider-Man’s suit to black, giving him yellow eyes instead of white, or even adding a distracting silver belt with a matching bracelet. A slick black costume formed by the same alien parasite that would eventually turn Eddie Brock into Venom, the outfit amplifies Spidey’s powers and makes him more dangerous than ever before.
Marvel’s Avengers fans will finally start to see the premium MCU suits roll out with the Red Room Takeover event, and when Spidey joins the roster of heroes, he deserves this same level of love. While no gameplay advantage would likely be seen if the skin came to Marvel’s Avengers, it would serve as a must-have addition for fans of the webhead. While purple and green can feel a little too much like a reminder of The Joker from the Batman series, it’s pulled off tastefully with this suit. It also does a much better job of covering him, which fits the armored motif even better, and it keeps the classic hat and mask. The Ultimate Marvel universe introduced a new younger version of Peter Parker who became Spider-Man in modern times, though his death led to the debut of a new hero under the mask named Miles Morales.
